Former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy was mad as hell at President Trump.
Gowdy went on Fox News and cut loose.
Trey Gowdy went on the warpath in this unreal assault on Trump.
Gowdy Joins Chorus of Establishment Figures Turning on Trump
The GOP establishment turned on a dime against President Trump the second he rejected their calls to deploy hundreds of thousands of American troops to Iran to wage a regime change war.
Instead, Trump stuck to his word to avoid endless wars in the Middle East and signed a deal with Iran to end the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The deal sets the stage for talks to end Iran’s nuclear program.
All of this enraged Fox News host Trey Gowdy, who was one of the many neoconservatives Fox put on the air to attack Trump and his deal
Gowdy complained that Trump’s deal called for Iran to downgrade its highly enriched uranium so it couldn’t be used for a nuclear weapon.
“And then I see this word ‘downblend’ and I’m not the smartest guy in the world, Sandra,” Gowdy raged to host Sandra Smith, “but if you can ‘downblend’ you can ‘upblend’ and how long would it take Iran to upblend because Donald Trump is going to be gone in January of 2029 but the so-called Supreme Leader [of Iran] will not be.”
Gowdy then spread the fake news media smear that Trump was paying Iran $300 billion, when in fact that money is an investment fund paid for by other Gulf region nations for reinvestment in Iran only if Iran complies with the terms of the deal to eliminate its nuclear weapons program.
“So here’s my question for my fellow citizens,” Gowdy added. “Do you really think Iran has abandoned its nuclear ambition? Do you believe ’em? What do you think they are going to do with the $300 billion? What are they gonna do with the oil revenue? Do you think they are going to build schools? Do you think they are going to make women’s lives better? Or are they going to continue to target America and Israel?”
Gowdy Spreads Misinformation About the Deal
Gowdy then falsely claimed Iran is now better off thanks to Trump’s deal by again incorrectly claiming that Trump paid Iran off to end the war when the deal is completely performance-based, where Iran only receives sanctions relief if it complies with Trump’s terms to end its nuclear weapons program.
“They are better off than they were before hostilities began, and that should not be the consequence of war,” Gowdy continued. “When you lose a war — I mean, think about it, Sandra, we went into Iran and rescued a downed pilot. We had total control over that country. We were winning militarily and economically. And when you are in that position, you negotiate from strength. You don’t give people money. You don’t give them access. What are they going to do with the money?…You know that Iran is going to use this for nefarious purposes! We all know that. The regime has not changed. They’re just richer.”
Before the war started, Iran had a nuclear program, a Navy, and an Air Force.
None of those exist any longer.
The ranting by establishment figures like Gowdy and others on Fox News is due to the swamp melting down over the fact that President Trump put America First to achieve his well-defined objectives of stopping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon and keeping America out of another forever war in the Middle East.
