Sean Hannity knew he had to tell his audience on Fox News the truth.
But it wasn’t easy or without controversy.
And Sean Hannity said he quit, stunning Fox News viewers with this bombshell.
Sean Hannity is one of President Trump’s closest friends and advisors.
Hannity also took great issue with Pope Leo rebuking President Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran, declaring that “God didn’t bless any conflict” and opposing the war in Iran, saying it fell short of the Church’s “just war doctrine” that held nations could go to war, but only as a last resort and in self-defense.
Trump fired back at the Pope with both barrels, blasting Leo as “weak” on foreign policy and crime.
Hannity defended Trump on his Fox News show, revealing that he left the Catholic faith, while ripping the church as a fundamentally corrupt institution from local parishes in America all the way to the Vatican.
“While I am a Christian, I left the Catholic Church in large part because of institutionalized corruption, and it was at the parish level, to the bishop level, cardinals, all the way to Rome,” Hannity stated
Hannity claimed the Church invited scandal by not allowing for priests to get married and said the church abandoned the meaning of the Bible.
“The very top scandals, terrible behavior, frankly, went not only unchecked, but they never fully corrected it or dealt with it, and others at the Vatican have totally lost sight of the true meaning of the bible and its teachings. I don’t know why. For the first 1200 years of the church, the priests were allowed to marry,” Hannity added.
Hannity then tore into Leo for opposing the war with Iran on the just war doctrine.
“They changed that law. But right on cue, Pope Leo XIV is seemingly more interested in spreading left-wing politics than the actual teachings of Jesus Christ. As the AP put it, quote, “Pope Leo amplified his condemnation of America’s conflict with Iran, saying that God does not bless any conflict and certainly doesn’t side with those who drop bombs,” Hannity continued.
Hannity said Leo didn’t know what he was talking about, arguing that God didn’t bless war, as the Old Testament mentions numerous conflicts.
“Well, first, that is simply not biblically accurate. The bible contains over 400 references to war, equally depicting God as authorizing, commanding, intervening in battles like one that we all know, the battle between David and Goliath. Why is the pope twisting religion to specifically attack only President Trump and the U.S.?” Hannity declared.
Hannity then accused Leo of being a secret Democrat operative.
“Why did he recently meet with top Barack Obama advisor David Axelrod and far-left governor of Illinois J.B. Pritzker? It’s because he’s a run of the mill Trump hating Democrat that lacks radical clarity about radical Islam?” Hannity concluded.
Many Catholics support President Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran.
Many Catholics also agree with the Pope.
The most recent poll shows 46 percent of Catholics support Trump, a higher percentage than the overall population.
Hannity’s monologue is emblematic of the divide on the war between Americans of good faith.
