Viewers noticed that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth hadn’t appeared on Fox News for w a while.
They finally got their answer as to why.
And Pete Hegseth got banned from Fox News for one reason that you won’t believe.
Fox News Bans Hegseth in Retaliation for War Department Press Policy
Fox News hasn’t put Hegseth on the air for over a year despite the operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the nation being at war with Iran for the last six months.
Neoconservative activist Laura Loomer broke the news about why.
Loomer posted on social media that Fox News banned Hegseth from the air as payback for the War Department’s press policies and for rejecting anti-Trump correspondent Jennifer Griffin from traveling on Pentagon trips.
“Senior Department of War source tells me the real reason why @SecWar Pete Hegseth hasn’t been on @FoxNews in over a year is because when Fox News got upset about signing the new Pentagon Press Corps agreement and was told they can only have one corespondent travel on @DeptofWar trips, the Department of War chose @LucasFoxNews Lucas Tomlinson and they rejected @JenGriffinFNC Jennifer Griffin,” Loomer wrote on X.
Loomer went on to say that the anger at Hegseth went all the way to the top of the network, with President Suzanne Scott handing down the edict to banish Hegseth from the airwaves.
“This infuriated Fox News executives, including Fox News President Suzanne Scott, and so Fox News executives retaliated by BLACKLISTING Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of War, from coming on Fox News,” Loomer added.
Hegseth’s Common Sense Media Policy
In the fall of 2025, Hegseth instituted a new Department of War policy that reporters couldn’t wander around the Pentagon unattended and that it could decide which reporters to credential.
Networks had to sign a waiver stating they understood these new policies.
“The new rules bar journalist access to large swaths of the Pentagon without an escort and say Hegseth can revoke press access to reporters who ask anyone in the Defense Department for information — classified or otherwise — that he has not approved for release,” PBS reported.
Hegseth said this policy was designed to prevent reporters from wandering around a building filled with classified information and war plans, exposure of any of which could put troops’ lives in danger and risk American national security.
Department of War spokesman Sean Parnell explained that networks didn’t have to agree to the policy, just say they understood it was in place.
“The policy does not ask for them to agree, just to acknowledge that they understand what our policy is,” Parnell declared. “This has caused reporters to have a full blown meltdown, crying victim online. We stand by our policy because it’s what’s best for our troops and the national security of this country.”
Griffin is an anti-Trump and pro-deep state reporter who acts as a mouthpiece for whatever narrative the swamp wants put out.
In 2020, Griffin claimed she “confirmed” the Atlantic’s hoax about President Trump calling troops who died in battle “suckers and losers.”
Hegseth doesn’t want Trump-deranged reporters traveling on official trips or sneaking around the Pentagon looking for classified information.
Fox News lashed out by banning him from the network.
