The left’s attacks against Clarence Thomas become more deranged as the years go on.
But the latest plot against Thomas was the most diabolical yet.
And Clarence Thomas’s life was in danger because of this scary act of betrayal.
The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway is the author of the new book about Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, entitled “Alito: The Justice Who Reshaped the Supreme Court and Restored the Constitution.”
Hemingway joined Megyn Kelly to discuss the book and what she learned while writing it.
The most shocking revelation came when Hemingway told Kelly that liberals on the Supreme Court slow-walked the release of the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, even though liberal militias were threatening the lives of the conservatives on the court by stalking them at their houses, forcing some to wear bulletproof vests for protection.
Hemingway told Kelly that the leftist mobs descended on the home of Clarence Thomas and the other conservatives on the Supreme Court after someone leaked a draft of the Dobbs opinion showing there was a majority on the court to strike down Roe.
“I mean, it’s just if you remember when the decision was leaked, excuse me, when the decision was leaked, almost immediately you had massive protests, not just at the Supreme Court, but also fire bombings of pro-life clinics and churches. And you had protests at the homes of the five justices who had voted to overturn Roe. Those protests were, you know, people were publicly putting out their addresses,” Hemming stated.
“Some of these justices live with their young children. They immediately had to be put under security. They were wearing bulletproof vests,” Hemingway added.
A Supreme Court decision isn’t final until it’s read from the bench.
Hemingway went on to say that since the opinion wasn’t final, the left killing a Supreme Court Justice meant Roe would stand since it would create a 4-4 deadlock on the case.
Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland allowed the mobs to terrorize conservative justices at their homes and never lifted a finger to enforce laws on the books to protect the justices.
“If one of them were killed, in fact, Roe would not have been overturned. It was clear that people were trying to either God forbid, physically harm these people, or otherwise intimidate them away from their decision. There are laws on the books against doing this,” Hemingway continued.
Liberal justices on the court then fought to delay releasing the opinion for as long as possible.
Hemingway reported that liberal Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan blistered the paint off the walls, yelling at her fellow liberal Justice Stephen Breyer to slow walk his dissent to delay the release of the Dobbs opinion for as long as possible.
“Breyer is a stalwart liberal, but he is also a gentleman. He was concerned about what was happening to his colleagues. Kagan reportedly screamed at him not to accommodate any kind of getting that dissent done so that the decision could be released,” Hemingway went on to say.
The court finally agreed to complete the opinion by June 1, but the left had one more delay trick up its sleeve, adding in one final footnote that postponed the release of the opinion for three more weeks.
“They put a footnote to a decision that was not yet ready to come out. Knowing that you can’t reveal the outcome of a case that has not yet been publicly announced, it delayed the announcement of Dobbs for another three-plus weeks,” Hemingway concluded.
Liberal justices didn’t care that their colleagues’ lives were in danger.
Critics contend they only cared about preserving abortion on demand.
