Karoline Leavitt waged a daily battle with the fake news media as White House Press Secretary.
Now that Leavitt has left her post, she is free to spill the inside scoop about what really goes on behind the scenes.
And Karoline Leavitt told Sean Hannity the shocking truth about what reporters say in private.
Leavitt Says Fake News Reporters Apologize for Their Behavior
White House press briefings see White House correspondents adopting a confrontational posture towards the administration.
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins is the poster child for in turning the briefings into a platform for her to make the event all about herself with adversarial behavior.
Leavitt recently left her post and went on Sean Hannity’s podcast where she told Hannity that reporters at left-wing outlets apologize to her in private for their histrionics and explain their bosses demand they act up to create more compelling television to keep their liberal audiences tuned in.
“There’s a performative aspect to the briefing room. In fairness, I think on both sides, right? But definitely with the press, and they have to do that because their bosses are demanding it. There’s been times reporters have even said to me, “I’m sorry, I had to ask that today. You know, my bosses really wanted me to ask that.” They know it’s an unfair question, but they’re not in control of their own livelihood, they are dictated by the editors and the execs at some of these companies,” Leavitt stated.
Leavitt Says Improvement at CBS
Leavitt also told Hannity that CBS, since it came under the control of David Ellison following the Paramount-SkyDance merger, improved is coverage to try and be more fair to the administration even though it is still a liberal network,
“I think we’ve seen a lot of improvement with them. And again, we’re not asking for like positive puff pieces every day. Just fairness, truth, accuracy, just telling a story or writing about factual information,” Leavitt added. “Writing about an Executive Order that the President of the United States signed should not be a questionable thing. A journal — should a journalist do that or not? It should just be ‘Yeah, of course I’ll write about this.’”
Leavitt’s comments will enrage the left because Ellison is set to take over CNN after Paramount-SkyDance recently completed a purchase of Warner Bros.-Discovery, the parent company of CNN.
12 Democrat states sued to stop the merger solely because they feared CNN would stop operating as a Democrat Party Super PAC.
Trump Misses Leavitt
Trump came to treat Leavitt as one of his most trusted aides after she joined his political operation.
When Leavitt left, Trump posted a gushing statement on Truth Social about her tenure.
“Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect! Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections,” Trump wrote.
“Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024. Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!” Trump concluded.
Leavitt’s value to Trump became clear after she left.
First, she joined his Super PAC as an advisor for the midterm election.
Second, Trump never named a permanent replacement for Leavitt, a move journalist Mark Halperin said showed Trump hoped Leavitt would return to the White House after the election.
