Ben Shapiro Declares War on JD Vance
Shapiro is an establishment neoconservative who declared himself Never Trump in 2016.
Like many neoconservatives, Shapiro wanted a Republican Party that supported endless wars in the Middle East and remained in the image of Mitt Romney and John McCain.
Shapiro also abandoned Trump after 2020 and opposed him in the 2024 primary.
Now, Shapiro is pretending to be a great supporter of Trump’s after Trump made the decision to go to war with Iran.
With polls showing Vance as the 2028 frontrunner, Shapiro is again positioning himself for a fight to seize control of the GOP back from Trump supporters and return it to the pre-Trump GOP establishment.
Shapiro attacked Vance as a fake Republican after Vance’s appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
“But now it’s time to get down to brass tacks,” Shapiro ranted. “Would we like a Republican Party that is essentially a horseshoe Democratic Party? I’m asking because that’s kind of what the VP sounded like on Joe Rogan.”
Shapiro claimed his attacks on Vance stemmed from a desire to defend conservative principles.
”I’m not sure what he’s doing. Now, listen, I want the Democrats to lose. Not because I don’t share their jersey, but because I do not share their fundamental principles. So I’m looking to support candidates who, number one, actually oppose Democratic policies. And two, can also win,’ Shapiro remarked.
Shapiro attacked Vance for supporting “Barack Obama’s foreign policy” and promoting “a conspiratorial view of the world that undermines the meritocracy.”
Shapiro’s False Claims About JD Vance
President Trump designated Vance as his representative to negotiate an end to the Iran War.
Shapiro supports an endless war in Iran, but Shapiro knows he can’t attack Trump, so he instead targets Vance.
What enraged Shapiro was Vance telling Rogan that “I’m frustrated by the Americans and by people in other countries who say you cannot negotiate with the Iranians.”
Shapiro also fumed about Vance detailing for Rogan a Time Magazine report about the Israeli government paying Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale $1.5 million to enlist conservative influencers to create social media content that included attacking Trump and Vance for negotiating with Iran.
“I definitely think you have seen this very discreet, extremely well-funded campaign to try to derail the negotiation and try to derail the deal. And there was, again, there’s this Time article that came out yesterday — a friend sent it to me — it’s worth reading because it lists a bunch of people who have quite literally been paid by a former Trump campaign person, who was himself paid by certain elements within the Israeli government,” Vance declared.
Karoline Leavitt Puts an End to Shapiro’s Line of Attack
During a White House press briefing, press secretary Karoline Leavitt made it clear there was no daylight between Trump and Vance on these issues, and that any attack on Vance was an attack on Trump.
“I can tell you that the president and vice president are on the same page about where we are right now in this conflict,” Leavitt said in response to a question about if Trump and Vance were aligned on negotiating with Iran.
Leavitt also said that Trump shared Vance’s frustration with Israel and other foreign countries attempting to influence American politics.
“I think the President would certainly agree that yes, foreign countries certainly do try to persuade American public opinion. There’s no doubt about that. I think it’s just a basic fact,” Leavitt added.
Shapiro wants a more establishment nominee in 2028 as he opposed Trump’s America First agenda.
And Shapiro is smearing Vance now in anticipation of the coming GOP Presidential primary.
