Jen Psaki Smears Eric Trump Over China Trip
MSNOW host Jen Psaki was all too happy to seize on a bit of news from President Trump’s trip to China to gin up a new story about Trump family corruption.
Psaki claimed on her show that Eric Trump accompanied his father on the trip while he is serving as a board member of the company ALT5, which is seeking to do business with AI companies and chip manufacturers in China.
“You see, Eric is on the board of a company called ALT5 Sigma. And you can see him and Don Jr. here ringing the opening bell at the NASDAQ with the name of that company and the name of the Trump family crypto company right behind them. Well, today, while Eric is in China with his dad, the Financial Times is reporting that this company has a memorandum of understanding to explore a potential deal with a Chinese computer chip manufacturer to build AI data centers and a whole bunch of other AI-related stuff,” Psaki said on her show.
Eric Trump responded furiously, declaring that he has never been a board member of ALT5, that he has no business in China, and that he joined the trip simply as a son wanting to accompany his father on a historic visit.
Eric Trump Fires Back
“Contrary to her monolog [sic] and blatant lies, I have NEVER been on the board of ALT5 — not now, not ever. Any person with basic access to Google and willing to open a company’s annual report or proxy statements would know this,” Eric Trump wrote on X.
“I have had zero involvement in any merger discussions involving any public entity I do not run or control,” Eric Trump added.
“I have zero business interests in China. No properties, no investments, nothing! I joined this trip for one reason: as a loving son who adores my father and wouldn’t miss being by his side for this incredible moment. During the bilateral talks, [Lara Trump] and I went to the Great Wall of China,” Eric Trump continued.
Eric Trump then announced he planned to sue Psaki for defamation.
“I intend to sue @jrpsaki and @MSNOWNews over the below clip,” Eric Trump concluded.
Feeling the heat, Psaki addressed the matter on her next show and described Eric Trump’s relationship with ALT% as “complicated,” even though she admitted the company didn’t list him as a board member and his status allows him no input on board meetings.
Psaki Enters Damage Control Mode
“And then that situation changed because in subsequent filings with the SEC, Eric was designated as an observer on the board, a role that typically means you cannot cast a vote at board meetings,” Psaki stated.
Psaki tried to claim she was in the right because the company initially introduced Eric Trump as a board member but quickly removed him.
In her monologue, Psaki never mentioned this, and let her viewers with the impression that Eric Trump sits on the board of a company doing business in a country he just traveled to with his father, the President.
