Left-wing actress Jane Fonda is one of the many in Hollywood suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Fonda’s hatred of Trump drove her to embarrassment.
And Jane Fonda picked one fight with Trump that went even worse than anyone could have imagined.
The left Counterprograms UFC 250
Hollywood leftists sought to copy Turning Point USA’s successful Super Bowl halftime alternative show by staging an event to counterprogram UFC 250, the MMA fights held on the White House lawn to celebrate President Trump’s 80th birthday and to kick off the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Jane Fonda, known as “Hanoi Jane” for her support for the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam War, was the ringleader of the “Rise Up and Sing” event.
Fonda told the press her event was supposedly a celebration of the First Amendment, which the left claims is under attack by the Trump administration.
“This is our documentary moment,” Fonda said in an interview with Reuters. “History is going to write about this, and I don’t want to be on the side of people who said, ‘Oh my God, things are so bad, what am I going to do?’ No. I want to be out in the front.”
Fonda cast herself and her Hollywood allies as the true guardians of America’s legacy,
“As America approaches its 250th anniversary, we have a choice about what story we tell. We can let strongman politics and corruption define the moment. Or we can make the story of America about people coming together — across race, background, identity, belief, and community — to defend our rights and build a future rooted in people power,” the event’s website explained. “On June 14, we rise up, we sing out, and we keep organizing.”
A Political Embarrassment for the Left
UFC 250 turned out to be a stunning success with visuals of fireworks, flyovers, and flags that caused Americans to swell with patriotic pride.
Rise Up and Sign featured Hollywood has been reinforcing a recent NBC News poll showing that just 12 percent of Kamala Harris voters were extremely or very proud to be an American.
Trump-hater Robert de Niro ranted that he couldn’t love a country that elected Donald Trump as President.
“The phrase, ‘We all love our country,’ stuck in my throat,” De Niro raged. “Because our country isn’t so lovable right now. I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser.”
“I can’t love a country that starts stupid and inhumane wars, killing thousands of innocents and indirectly causing the deaths and suffering of millions more,” De Niro fumed. “I can’t love a country that takes healthcare away from millions of people and uses that money to enrich their pals in the Trump-Epstein class.”
“I can’t love a country that sends out masked militias to shoot citizens in the streets, torture our neighbors, and separate families,” De Niro concluded. “I can’t love a country that’s led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant. And let me just say it: I can’t love the country that’s led by Donald Trump and his sycophant Congress.”
