And Ben Shapiro dragged JD Vance through the mud with this unspeakable declaration of war.
Ben Shapiro Reverts to Never Trump
Ben Shapiro was one of the founding fathers of the Never Trump movement.
After Trump won, Shapiro adjusted his stance to claim he was a Trump supporter in order to maintain his place within the Republican Party in the hopes of being able to influence the post-Trump direction of the GOP.
The aftermath of Trump’s peace deal to end the Iran War showed Shapiro seized on the agreement to race out to a head start on 2028 by savaging Vice President Vance as “weak” and a disaster for spearheading the negotiations that brought the war to a conclusion.
Shapiro trashed Vance for his performance at the talks in Switzerland, where Vance met with the Iranians, the Pakistanis, and Qataris as an embarrassment to America.
“Vance spent the weekend looking weak in front of the Qataris, the Pakistanis, and most of all, the Iranians,” Shapiro raged. “In fact, I’ve never seen a weaker look from a Republican politician. It is not peace through strength. It is war through weakness.”
Shapiro is one of the many establishment figures and neoconservatives who secretly despise Vance because Vance supports an America First foreign policy.
That’s because Shapiro and his fellow warmongers want to drag the GOP back to the days of Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney once Trump leaves office.
Vance critics like Shapiro spent decades laying the groundwork for a war in Iran, where the U.S. would deploy hundreds of thousands of troops into Iran to topple the regime.
Shapiro and his allies are attacking Vance and the deal in the hopes that negative media coverage will fool Trump into not supporting Vance in 2028.
The Truth about the Deal
Vance debunked the falsehoods Shapiro and other critics leveled, telling reporters that the deal was good for America on two fronts.
First, it allowed for International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to gain access to Iranian nuclear sites.
“This is probably what we’re most excited about as Americans,” Vance told reporters. “The Iranians have agreed to invite IAEA inspectors back into their country. That is a major milestone for the American people, and the first step in permanently denuclearizing or permanently ending a nuclear weapons program in Iran. And that’s exactly what we wanted to do. That’s exactly what we asked to happen.”
Second, contrary to Shapiro and others saying Vance rewarded Iran by allowing them access to billions of dollars that Iran could then use to fund terrorist, Vance explained that Iran could only use the unfrozen funds to buy U.S. agricultural products,
“Yeah, that was something that came up yesterday. We actually asked the Qataris to help us set up the mechanism so that we could ensure that the money goes where we want it to go. And they agreed to do that. We have a good relationship, obviously, with them and a good operational oversight mechanism in place. But even with that said, even with the caveat that it’s going to benefit American farmers and obviously benefit the people of Iran, we want both. But fundamentally, that money is not going to be unfrozen unless we continue to see progress. And that will obviously be a big part of the negotiation in the days to come,’ Vance added.
And if there was any hope of Shapiro’s criticisms driving a wedge between Trump and Vance, that scheme failed miserably as Trump lavished praise on Vance for his performance.
“I thought JD Vance this morning was FANTASTIC. I watched his news conference from Switzerland. He’s a VERY smart guy, did a great job,” Trump declared during an Oval Office event.
