Control of Congress and the future of President Trump’s agenda are on the line in this November’s midterm election.
President Trump is laying out his battle plan and picking his slate of candidates.
And a Fox News star made one 2026 prediction that Trump is going to hate.
President Trump shook up the Texas Senate race when he endorsed State Attorney General Ken Paxton over pro-amnesty and pro-gun control RINO incumbent John Cornyn.
“The Highly Respected Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, an America First Patriot, and someone who has always been extremely loyal to me and our AMAZING MAGA MOVEMENT, is running for the United States Senate, to represent a place I love and WON, BIG, three times, with 6.4 Million Votes in 2024 (The Most Votes in the History of the State, BY FAR)!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Trump explained that Cornyn opposed his 2024 Presidential campaign until it was too late.
“John Cornyn is a good man, and I worked well with him, but he was not supportive of me when times were tough and, despite having the Most Successful Economy in the History of our Country during my First Term,” Trump added.
In 2023, Cornyn claimed “President Trump’s time has passed him by” and that Trump was unelectable.
Cornyn was also part of the RINO establishment in the Senate that refused to eliminate the filibuster and allow the GOP to pass the SAVE America Act with a simple majority vote.
Establishment Republicans were furious, and Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume, the grand poohbah of establishment Republicans in conservative media, ranted that Trump put the Senate at risk by endorsing Paxton.
“The reasons he didn’t get it are pretty flimsy on the president’s part,” Hume whined.
Hume was actually upset that Trump didn’t back a Senator who didn’t support him when the chips were down.
Despite no polls showing Cornyn outperforming Paxton against Democrat James Talarico, Hume claimed Paxton could lose the seat.
“And I think that the seat is now at least in some danger,” he added. “Look, Texas is still Texas. Ken Paxton may yet win, but he has a ton of baggage. There’s no doubt about that, and he doesn’t really bring in all segments of the Republican base. So we’ll see. And Talarico, he’s got some baggage, too, but he’s a slick talker and impresses a lot of people. So, he’s got a shot now that maybe he didn’t have if his opponent had been Cornyn,” Hume added.
Talarico is a vegan who supports open borders and claims God is non-binary.
That’s not the profile of a candidate who can win statewide in Texas.
But establishment Republicans tried to whip up a fake hysteria about Paxton being unelectable to manipulate Trump into endorsing Cornyn, their preferred establishment moderate.
Trump saw through this sham and backed Paxton.
