CNN is normally a network liberals tune in to so they can satisfy their Trump Derangement Syndrome.
But on this day, viewers were in for the surprise of their lives.
And CNN was forced to make one admission about Trump that will drive Democrats insane.
CNN Praises Trump Accounts
“Trump Accounts” were one of the key pro-family, pro-working class policies included in President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill with the goal of making raising a family more affordable.
The government seeded accounts for babies born between 2025 and 2028 with $1,000, and Americans could contribute up to $5,000 a year tax-free.
Normally, CNN would run fake news attack pieces about a Trump agenda item to deny Trump a political victory on what voters say is their number one issue heading into an election.
Instead, host Dana Bash and Senior Business Reporter Dave Goldman gushed about the Trump Accounts.
Goldman declared the accounts a “pretty good deal” that anyone eligible to open one could one day use to pay for college or a down payment on a home.
“So what are the rules? How do you get this? Well, you can contribute $5,000 a year, tax-free — tax-deductible investments in a low-cost index fund, like the S&P 500. Remember, the S&P 500 made 300% over the past 10 years. That could be a really good investment. But even if you don’t invest in it, it’s a pretty good deal, and you can use it for things like college — obviously, because when you’re 18, that’s one of the places you’re going. But you might want to use it for your first home. You can even just keep it in your account and use it for retirement,” Goldman stated.
Trump Accounts are a Windfall
Goldman went on to say that contributing $5,000 a year to a Trump Account would yield $250,000 by the time a person turned 19.
“Now, if you do not contribute to this and you just keep the $1,000 — still with a 10% return, which is pretty conservative over the past 10 years — look at this: you can still walk away with $5,500 for college or something else like that. Now, that’s not gonna pay for college. If you do max out your contributions, you’re talking about some really serious money — about a quarter million dollars by the time your child is 18, assuming those 10% returns,’ Goldman added.
A $ 5,000-per-year contribution would leave a Trump Account with $13 million in value by age 55.
Contributing nothing would leave the Trump Account valued at $243,000 by age 55.
“But listen, I mean, this is pretty phenomenal for people — as you said, free money,” Bash declared.
