CNN branded itself “the most trusted name in news.”
The public rendered its verdict.
And what Americans think about CNN will leave you speechless.
CNN Lives Down to Its Reputation as Fake News
For ten years, President Trump blasted CNN as “fake news,” for their biased and false coverage of him.
CNN is now discovering that its own polling shows that the American people agree with Trump.
In their latest survey, CNN sought to measure trust in news outlets.
“Which best describes your approach to following what happens in American politics?”, the poll asked.
Mediaite reported that “33% said they frequently seek out the latest political news, 32% follow major developments in politics but don’t seek them out, 26% only pay as much attention to politics as necessary, and 9% don’t follow politics at all. This showed a slight uptick in interest in political news from a previous poll taken April 30 to May 4, in which 26% said they frequently seek out the latest political news, 36% follow major developments in politics but don’t seek them out, 29% only pay as much attention to politics as necessary, and 9% don’t follow politics at all.”
The poll then sought to tease out which sources Americans considered trustworthy for their political news.
One of the poll questions asked, “There are a lot of different ways to find out what’s happening in politics. Some people hear about it from journalists and the news, from celebrities or online influencers, from academic or political experts, from business leaders, or people in their own community and social circle. For you, personally, is there a specific person or source you trust to tell you about what’s happening in politics?”
Americans Don’t Trust CNN
55% of Americans reported that they didn’t trust a single news source to tell the truth,
Of the 45 percent who reported that they had one go-to source for political news, just 2% said it was CNN.
“For the 45% who did say they had a person or source they trusted for political news, 25% said outlets or news sources, including 5% for Fox News, 2% for CNN, 2% for NPR and public radio, 2% for local news outlets, and 1% each for MS NOW, The New York Times, BBC News, PBS, ABC News, NBC News, and Newsmax. A longer list of media sources received 0.5% or less and were represented in the polling report by an asterisk,” Mediaite reported.
After Trump won in 2016, CNN went all in on negative news stories about Trump and amplifying every single Democrat hoax from Russia collusion to the idea that Trump incited an insurrection on January 6.
In the eyes of many Americans, CNN proved it wasn’t trustworthy by turning over its airwaves to a rogue’s gallery of anti-Trump figures, including Adam Schiff and Michael Avenatti.
CNN likes to claim it is a bastion of facts and truth.
The facts and truth are that because CNN operates like an anti-Trump Super PAC, the American people don’t trust it to tell them the truth.
