President Trump was mad as all. And for good reason.
Lives were at risk over an act of betrayal.
And Donald Trump is coming for the media leaker. Someone is going to prison over this betrayal.
President Trump ordered a special forces rescue mission into Iran that brought an F-15 crew member to safety after Iran shot down the fighter jet.
Military officials described the operation as the most complex special operation in U.S. history since hundreds of special forces operators entered Iran and set up a temporary base and a runway for aircraft to land and recover the crew member and bring everyone home.
The crew member hid in a mountainous crevice for 48 hours, armed only with a handgun, and used a transponder beacon to signal to the CIA his location.
Trump hailed the mission as an “Easter Miracle.”
But according to President Trump, the media nearly derailed the operation by publishing a story about how the U.S. first recovered the F-15’s pilot and tipped Iran off that the U.S. was engaged in a search and rescue mission.
“We didn’t talk about the first one for an hour, and then somebody leaked something, which we’ll hopefully find that leaker, we’re looking very hard to find that leaker, and talked about, somebody is missing,” Trump revealed during a press conference. “They basically said that we have one, and somebody is missing. Well, they didn’t know somebody was missing until this leaker gave the information.”
“So in addition to a hostile, very talented, very good, very evil military, we had millions of people trying to get an award,” Trump added.
Trump then revealed he wanted the leaker prosecuted and threatened the reporter who published the story with jail time unless they revealed their source.
“Whoever it is, we think we’ll be able to find it out, because we’re going to go to the media company that released it, and we’re going to say, national security, give it up or go to jail,” Trump added. “And we know who, and you know who we’re talking about, because some things you can’t do, because when they did that, all of a sudden, the entire country of Iran knew that there was a pilot that was somewhere on their land, that was fighting for his life.”
Trump argued the leaker put lives in danger, and it was paramount to hold them accountable.
“So when you add that to it, but we have to find that leaker, because that’s a sick person. Probably didn’t realize the extent of how bad it was. I can’t imagine that the person did. But we’re going to find out,” Trump concluded. “It’s national security. And the person who did the story will go to jail if he doesn’t say.”
Amit Segal of Israel’s Channel 12 was the reporter who broke the story.
And Segal told the New York Post that he will protect his source no matter the cost.
🚨 BREAKING: The media outlet who published the US had only saved ONE of two F-15 airmen—risking the mission to save the second—was Israel’s Channel 12, per NYP
