Vance Refuses Woke Right Demands to Cancel Tucker Carlson
For around a year, the coalition of Never Trumpers and neoconservatives waged a sustained smear campaign against Tucker Carlson to brand him as an anti-Semite and expel him from the conservative movement.
This was really a proxy attack against Vice President Vance, as this cabal all opposed Donald Trump in 2016 and 2024, and they see 2028 as their chance to snatch back control of the GOP from the Trump movement by destroying Trump’s heir apparent, Vance, through a guilt-by-association campaign.
Vance faces daily demands on social media and neoconservative media outlets like Daily Wire, the Free Press, and the New York Post to condemn Carlson, with the implication being Vance won’t do so because he’s a secret anti-Semite and socialist like Carlson.
Kerry Pickett of the Washington Times asked Vance about the latest round of demands that he denounce Carlson that came after Carlson said on his podcast that he couldn’t support Mike Rogers, the neoconservative Senate candidate in Michigan, over Rogers’ support for domestic spying and the Iran War.
Vance told Pickett that he wasn’t going to bend the knee to a mob demanding he repudiate his friend, although he admitted he and Carlson differed on policy and that Carlson was “wrong” on some of his opinions because he rejected the idea that political views should determine who your friends are.
“Well, look, I’m not avoiding addressing anything. Everybody knows that Tucker Carlson and I are friends, and I think it’s very obvious that Tucker has said some things that I disagree with. He said some things about the President of the United States that I think are just wrong,” Vance added.
The Neoconservative Demands that Vance Denounce Carlson
Vance explained he didn’t like it when the left attacked his wife, and he wasn’t for those who claim to be on the right adopting the left’s tactics of denunciation and cancellation.
“That said, my attitude towards this — I try to practice what I preach. And I remember when I became the vice presidential nominee, one of the hardest things for me personally wasn’t when people attacked me, but when people attacked my wife, including friends of hers who knew her heart, who knew what a good person she was. And I remember thinking to myself, what a travesty it is that in the United States of America, we let political disagreements define who our friends are going to be and not going to be,” Vance continued.
“So yeah, Tucker is a friend of mine. Tucker is a friend, despite the fact that we disagree on a number of things. And I’m not gonna play the game where I throw friends under the bus because I have political disagreements with them. I think that is a terrible place for the United States to go. And if you have a disagreement with somebody politically, even over a deeply held issue, you should still be friends with that person, because the whole republic depends on people of different perspectives being able to talk to one another. That’s how I try to live my life, and I encourage everybody else to do the same. All right,” Vance concluded.
JD Vance opposed the Iran War and would oppose future wars in the Middle East, and with President Trump opposing their demand for a regime-change war with Iran, neoconservatives are attacking Vance via Tucker to pave the way for their favored candidate to win 2028 and plunge America into another quagmire in the desert.
Mark Levin claimed anyone who wouldn’t denounce Carlson was unfit to remain in the conservative movement.
“Tucker Carlson has become a litmus test of sorts. If you’re a rational, upright, decent, and principled person, you have nothing but contempt for him and what he represents. If you don’t, well, that’s another story,’ Levin wrote on X.
Neoconservative and Article III Project Senior Counsel Will Chamberlain demanded Vance attack Carlson in public,
“Honestly at this point it would be very good and healthy for @JDVance to rip Tucker to shreds,” Chamberlain wrote on social media.
President Trump won in 2028 because he built a coalition large enough to include Carlson and Levin.
But neoconservatives like Levin, Chamberlain, and Ben Shapiro fear that if Vance wins in 2028, then the GOP will continue an America First foreign policy, so they want to sabotage Vance’s Presidential campaign.
