White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced she was leaving her post.

Trump Jokes About Leavitt’s Departure
Trump developed a close relationship with Leavitt, who joined his operation as a press secretary after losing a Congressional race in 2022.
Leavitt was one of the close advisors Trump could count on to always tell him the truth in private and defend him in public at the press briefings.
Trump joked during a recent rally that Leavitt was leaving the administration to spend time with her children following the birth of her daughter and that he was “upset” that Leavitt loved her kids more than “Trump.”
“And our press secretary, mother of two, and, well, she decided she loved her children more than she loved Donald Trump. I’m very upset about this,” Trump stated.
Trump then congratulated Leavitt on the birth of her children.
“She has to go home and spend time with her children. That does happen on occasion with some people when they love their children. And she does. And, Caroline, congratulations on your newborn, your perfect newborn,” Trump added.
Leavitt’s Next Chapter
Trump announced Leavitt’s departure as press secretary in a post on Truth Social.
“Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” Trump wrote.
“Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections,” Trump added.
“Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024. Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!” Trump concluded.
But Leavitt isn’t straying too far from Trump’s orbit as she will be joining the pro-Trump MAGA Inc. Super PAC for the midterm election.
“Leavitt, 28, told reporters aboard Air Force One that she will return to work for the super PAC, for which she served as a spokesperson before joining Trump’s 2024 campaign, though she did not specify what her new title will be,” NBC News reported.
Trump grew to trust and rely on Leavitt, and he made that clear in his own humorous way with his remarks at the rally.
