Georgia Democrat Senator Jon Ossoff is trying to build buzz for a 2028 Presidential campaign.
But Ossoff has major trouble brewing.
And Jon Ossoff left Trump red with rage by saying three words about one woman.
Jon Ossoff’s ‘Travel with Natalie’ Barb Backfires
Jon Ossoff wants to run for President in 2028 and wind up on the ticket in some capacity.
But Ossoff also knows the Democrat Party’s anti-Israel turn makes it very unlikely the party will nominate him because he’s Jewish.
To overcome that, Ossoff is trying to create viral moments of himself delivering speeches in which he presents himself as an anti-Trump brawler.
Ossoff’s latest stunt included a line about how Trump likes to “travel with Natalie,” a line meant to insinuate that Trump and aide Natalie Harp, who travels with Trump to type out social media posts and ensure Trump is receiving all relevant media information, are carrying on an affair.
The line landed with a thud as even Democrats like former Obama chief strategist David Axelrod chided Ossoff for smearing an innocent woman as some kind of harlot.
“They juiced the virality of it, I’m sure. Probably thrilled some in the base, who figured it was just giving Trump a taste of his own nasty medicine. But they distracted and detracted from the power of the message,” Axelrod stated.
Ossoff Doubles Down
Despite top members of his own party calling out his mistake, Ossoff doubled down on his attack on Harp in an interview with MS NOW’s Lawrence O’Donnell.
“Senator, of all the things you’ve said about Donald Trump, and there are many, this is the one that apparently bothers him and everyone at his White House the most. You said we just heard it. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace, gifted by the Emir of Qatar. Why do you think that’s the line that bothers Donald Trump the most?” O’Donnell asked.
Ossoff responded by attacking Harp’s defenders in the White House as snowflakes and claimed working in public service meant you had to deal with lies and smears about having an affair with your boss.
“It’s been amazing to watch this White House meltdown over this all week. And about Natalie Harp, these White House staffers are adults, public officials paid by the taxpayers, with immense power in positions of public trust. And whether it’s Natalie Harp printing out Donald Trump’s daily dose of delusion and flattery, or Peter Navarro steering taxpayer-funded loans to Trump family investments, or Pete Hegseth deluding the president daily into deepening this quagmire in the Middle East, no one cares about their feelings,” Ossoff raged.
Ossoff clearly committed an unforced error.
But in today’s Democratic Party, it’s worse to be seen showing weakness involving Trump and apologizing than to try and ruin an innocent woman’s reputation.
